Bitwa o Neta – Poland’s largest bank educates with games
With the campaign we had to answer the question – how to effectively encourage young people to learn the basics of cyber security? We had to find a way that would fit in with their lifestyle and interests.
What was the idea?
We have developed a mobile game, Bitwa o Neta, published on the Instant Games platform accessible from Facebook (formerly also the Messenger app). In it, players take on the role of Adepts of the Cyber Security Academy and prepare to fight cyber threats to save the Internet.
Substantive contribution
Contribution of content for the microgames, such as hacking methods, examples of social hacking and proper online behavior, was received from experts in the field. PKO Bank Polski’s cyber security.
Storytelling
Storytelling, a feast of colors in the visuals and an out-of-the-box approach to the topic of cyber-security set Battle of the Net apart from other forms of educational content on the subject. The game itself stands out above all other games available through Instant Games. In doing so, the use of this platform meant that anyone who had the Facebook/Messenger app also had instant access to Bitwa o Neta – without additional downloads or logins.
Results of the campaign
A link directing to the game was clicked by 21,106 players, posts about Bitwa o Neta engaged nearly 170,000 interested parties, and a video about the game reached more than 1,870,000 views. As a result, nearly 6 million people learned about the Bitwa o Neta! The excellent performance also translated into two silver awards at the Mixx Awards Europe 2020 – in the Non-Profit/Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Media categories.
